Dear Children,
It’s your mama here. How are you doing? I want you to know that I love you and have always wanted you. For as long as I can remember I have wanted to nurture you, encourage you and help you fulfill your dreams. I want to be there at home to raise you, whilst also having a fulfilling career. I want you to know that hard work pays off, and I want to make a difference so you see me make a change and not simply hear me nag.

My darling daughter(s), forgive me for when I dress you up like me when you are young. Once you are old enough; I’ll probably stop the ‘mini me’ clothes. Darling daughter, I want you to be bold, strong and confident. I want you to see your dreams, write them down and chase after them with God given valor. If you ever realize that I’ve not been good enough, I want you to know your heavenly father loves you perfectly. My beautiful angel, I want you to know that all women are blessed with an extraordinary ability to achieve greatness; do not be afraid of that greatness. My darling, do not be filled with regret, take chances in life, open your arms wide and you will soar. Keep you heart soft, and remain kind, the darkness of living in this world can be overwhelming, but I know you can be the light that shines right through.

My son(s), I want to tell you that you are good, you are strong, and you are valued. The world I live in now may not value you, and they are too quick to judge you too. But I want you to hear me say that you are valued, you are cherished, and you are loved. You are strong just like Samson, wise like Solomon and tenderhearted like David. Your identity rests in God; look at the great things He says about you. I want you to soar without holding back. Be good to yourself, be good to others, do not feed the stereotype the world has tried so hard to portray of you. Be a man of integrity, a pillar of the community and a real husband to your wife and a father to your children. Let them into your heart, share your work with them, let them know the things that bring you joy. My darling son, know that your daughters relationship with men will be based on her relationship with you. Understand that your sons will replicate a lot of what you do. Be wise, and surround yourself with wise people, they will build you up; in their midst you will be safe and your principles unwavering.

With all the love in the world
